What ECHO-VERIFY covers
ECHO-VERIFY defines the following structures.
- Issuing verification identifiers: generating a new Verify ID and recording the initial version.
- Revocation management: the revocation conditions of an identifier and public management of the revoked state.
- Replacement: migration from an old version to a new version and retention of history.
- History tracking: the structure for tracing the lineage of versions.
- Public-surface connection: the connection conditions with Verified Web.
The meaning of self-verification
"Self-verification" in ECHO-VERIFY refers to a state in which a verifier can verify independently — without going through a central institution — based on the published specification, version information, and verification paths.
This does not mean unilaterally asserting truth; it means the verification path exists on the public surface.
Relationship to Two-Rail
ECHO-VERIFY is a specification placed on the public-rail side of Two-Rail.
The lifecycle of verification identifiers is managed on the public rail, and revocation, replacement, and history are organized in a form traceable from the public surface. Details of the non-public rail are delegated to the Two-Rail Kernel.
